Why we created the Forum

Over the 11 years that we have lived on Awbrey Butte, we have recognized a need for an easy method for neighbors to exchange information about neighborhood issues and the ABOA.

Although ABOA members may comment in the association's meetings, the virtual meeting process can be inefficient. It captures only a small sample of neighbors' opinions on issues that affect all 700+ of the membership. Neighbors' comments at Board Meetings have not been included in meeting minutes.

Attending several virtual ABOA Board meetings per year to keep up with Board actions is not something most members do.

When the Board takes action on a topic that may be of interest to a large number of members, the members learn of it ahead of time only from a brief mention in the Board meeting agenda. The August 26, 2026 Board meeting is an example (please see Tom's post in the Forum about the potential change in rules for long-term parking of large camper-vans in driveways).

So, as retired geologists with basic web development skills, we have created the Awbrey Butte Forum, hoping it can provide a greater voice for all of the residents of Awbrey Butte.

Tom is acting as the Administrator for the website. If you need further information please send him an email.
